120 COMMANDMENTS OF JESUS
THE PRINCIPAL COMMANDS
1. Love God above all. (Matthew 22:37-39)
2. Love your neighbour as yourself. (Matthew 22:37-39)
3. Treat others as you wish to be treated. (Luke 6:31)
4. Imitate the Good Samaritan. (Luke 10:37)
GOD AND JESUS
5. Repent. (Matthew 4:17)
6. Believe the Gospel. (Mark 1:15)
7. Have faith in God. (Mark 11:22)
8. Fear God. (Luke 12:5)
9. Worship and serve God only. (Matthew 4:10)
10. Don’t put God to the test. (Matthew 4:7)
11. Trust in Jesus as we trust in God. (John 14:1)
12. Come to me and drink. (John 7:37)
13. Come to me those who are overworked and tired. (Matthew 11:28)
14. Take up my yoke and work for me. (Matthew 11:29)
15. Come, follow me. (Matthew 4:19)

OBEY JESUS
17. Hear, if you have ears to hear. (Mark 4:23)

20. Walk while you still have the Light. (John 12:35-36)

LOVE, FORGIVE AND JUDGE
25. Love each other as I have loved you. (John 13:34)

27. Don’t lord it over one another. (Luke 22:25-26)
28. Have salt amongst yourselves and peace with one another. (Mark 9:50)
29. Don’t murmur amongst yourselves. (John 6:43)
30. Don’t condemn others. (Luke 6:37)
31. Judge righteously and not by appearance. (John 7:24)
32. Reconcile with your brother before making your offering to God. (Matthew 5:23-24)
33. Examine yourself before correcting your brother. (Matthew 7:5)
34. If your brother sins, rebuke him. (Luke 17:3)
35. If your brother sins against you, talk to him privately and show him his fault. (Matthew 18:15)
36. If your brother says “I repent”, forgive him. (Luke 17:4)
37. If he who sinned doesn’t listen to you, involve two or three witnesses. (Matthew 18:16)
38. If he doesn’t listen to the two or three witnesses, involve the whole church. (Matthew 18:17)
39. If he doesn’t listen to the church, treat him as an unbeliever. (Matthew 18:17)
40. Be merciful, as God is merciful. (Luke 6:36)
PRAYER AND FASTING
41. Fast in secret. (Matthew 6:16-18)
42. Be alert and pray, so that you do not fall into temptation. (Matthew 26:41)
43. Pray in secret. (Matthew 6:5-6)
44. Don’t use vain repetitions when praying. (Matthew 6:7-8)
45. When praying, follow the pattern in ‘Our Father’. (Luke 11:2-4, Matthew 6:9-13)

RELIGION

53. Listen to religious leaders but don’t follow their example. (Matthew 23:2-3)

57. Don’t use titles of respect for yourselves or others. (Matthew 23:8-10)

59. Let your ‘yes’ be ‘yes’, and your ‘no’, ‘no’. (Matthew 5:37)
60. Share bread and wine in memory of me. (Luke 22:19)
PERSECUTION AND ENEMIES
61. Deny yourself, carry your cross and follow me. (Mark 8:34)
62. Don’t fear those who can kill your body. (Luke 12:4)
63. Be encouraged during difficult times. (John 16:33)
64. Don’t be troubled or afraid. (John 14:27)
65. Remember that if they hated me, they will also hate you. (John 15:20, Matthew 10:24-25)
66. Rejoice and leap for joy when you are persecuted because of me. (Luke 6:22-23)
67. Love your enemies; do good to those who hate you. (Luke 6:27)
68. Don’t resist the person who wrongs you. (Matthew 5:39)

MONEY AND POSSESSIONS
76. Don’t accumulate treasure on earth, but in heaven. (Matthew 6:19-20)

79. Forsake all that you own. (Luke 14:33)

87. If someone takes legal action against you, give more than what they ask. (Matthew 5:40)
88. If someone takes what is yours, don’t try to claim it back. (Luke 6:30)
89. Give to Caesar what is his, and give to God what belongs to God. (Matthew 22:21)
90. Don’t turn the house of God into a marketplace. (John 2:16)
WORKING FOR GOD AND LIVING BY FAITH
91. You cannot serve both God and mammon. (Matthew 6:24)
92. Don’t work for physical food, but spiritual food. (John 6:27)
93. What you receive for free, share for free. (Matthew 10:18)
94. Don’t worry about your life; what you will eat, drink or wear. (Matthew 6:25-31)
95. Don’t worry about the future. (Matthew 6:34) 96. Make the Kingdom of God and His righteousness your top priority. (Matthew 6:33)
PREACHING THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS
97. Preach the gospel to everyone. (Mark 16:15)
98. Make disciples, baptising them and teaching them to obey Jesus. (Matthew 28:19-20)
99. Preach repentance and forgiveness of sins in Jesus’ name. (Luke 24:47)
100. What I tell you in secret, speak openly. (Matthew 10:27)
101. Open your eyes and see that the harvest is ready, right now. (John 4:35)
102. Shine your light by doing good works. (Matthew 5:16)
103. Don’t impede those who preach in Jesus’ name. (Luke 9:49-50)

MARRIAGE AND CHILDREN
106. He that can remain single should do so. (Matthew 19:12)
107. What God has joined in marriage, man should not separate. (Matthew 19:6)
108. Let the children come to Jesus, and don’t impede them. (Matthew 19:14)
109. Don’t underestimate little children. (Matthew 18:10)
KEEPING WATCH AND THE LAST DAYS
110. Stay alert and be prepared. (Matthew 24:42-44)
111. Be careful that nobody deceives you. (Matthew 24:4-5)
112. Don’t believe those that say, “Christ is here,” or “Christ is there”. (Matthew 24:23-26)
113. When you hear of wars and revolutions don’t be afraid. (Luke 21:9)
114. Flee to the mountains if you see the “abomination of desolation”. (Mark 13:14-16)
115. Pray that your escape doesn’t happen in winter or on the Sabbath day. (Matthew 24:20)
116. Keep watch and pray, to escape and present yourself worthy in front of Christ. (Luke 21:36)
HUMILITY AND DISCIPLINE
117. ‘Clean’ yourself internally, in your spirit. (Matthew 23:26)
118. Don’t rejoice over having spiritual power, but that you have eternal life. (Luke 10:20)
119. Don’t sit in the place of honour but take the lowest seat. (Luke 14:8-10)
120. When you have done all these things that Jesus has commanded say, “We are useless servants; we have only done what it was our duty to do.” (Luke 17:10)
